Our New VentureLab Teammates

Updated: Oct 16, 2021

VentureLab and I-Corps South are excited to welcome our two new Graduate Research Assistants (GRAs), James de Klerk and Nammu Kumar! They are both joining us this year from the Scheller College of Business here at Georgia Tech. They are second year students in the full time MBA program and thrilled to be contributing to the VentureLab and I-Corps South team over the course of the next year.

James is a TI:GER fellow working on commercializing technology developed here at Georgia Tech. James comes from a background in technology, having received his undergraduate degree from NC State in Mechanical Engineering and is now currently pursuing a Master’s in engineering at Georgia Tech as well. Prior to coming to the graduate program he worked in consulting at Atlanta based Manhattan Associates, advising major apparel retailers and improving their warehouse systems and operations. Outside of school James plays and serves as treasurer to a rugby team here in Atlanta called High Country. James is looking forward to pursuing a career after his MBA focused on strategy and innovation and is looking forward to learning more about how VentureLab and I-Corps South develops programs and coaches teams towards the creation and strategy for innovative solutions in their incubators.

Nammu completed her undergraduate education in India and comes with a background in law and business. Before coming to Georgia Tech, she worked in operations for a Dunkin franchise in the Northeast, improving the operational efficiency of stores, training teams and future managers. Nammu is concentrating her MBA on strategy and innovation and will pivot into a strategy role after graduation. She serves as the President of Women in Business Club at Scheller and is particularly excited to help expand the VentureLab Female Founders Initiative. She is also excited to be working with James on developing a strategic plan and roadmap for other inclusive entrepreneurship engagements opportunities for VentureLab to explore. Outside of school, Nammu volunteers on the Board of a local prosthetics Non-Profit Organization and fosters dogs for Atlanta Humane Society.

Our team looks forward to engaging with our two new team members and to collaborating with their learning and our strategic initiatives through next Summer.
